I lost my Umi today.
She had been sick for the past weeks and had not been eating. Stayed about a week at the animal clinic with an IV drip and meds. Her liver enzymes were high and she had jaundice. We brought her home last Friday and gave her sub-cutaneous fluids twice a day.
She was 10+ years old, not yet 11.
I hope she had a good life with us.
We will miss her.
I am so sorry to hear that, the loss of a pet is never easy. I'm sure she had a wonderful life with you. You are in my thoughts and prayers as I tat today...

ReplyDeleteSo sorry, Wendy. Sending good thoughts your way.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry, Wendy. I know Umi was a special cat. I always enjoyed your descriptions of her playing. Losing a cat always leaves a gaping hole in your life. I don't have the words to provide any comfort, so I am sending you a great big hug. I hope that Tsuru is well.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry. That's not very old for a cat either. BUT she had a wonderful home when you took her in. Tsuru will miss her.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a good day to help you through your loss. My mom is a cat lover and we have had lots of cats.
ReplyDeleteAs a rescuer of many stray cats myself, I'm sad for your loss. I'm sure your kindness in taking in a rescued cat gave her many years of comfort and security. Bless you for your generous act of caring.
ReplyDeleteI am certain she had a wonderful, full and happy life with you.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry. We shall all miss seeingher pretty little face here in Tat-land.

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to read only today about Umi!!
ReplyDeleteI understand you because I have a cat like your, found six years ago at the age of two weeks and to think about a life without him is too hard for me!
I feel the sorrow, even now, over a year later. How many kitties get to be immortalized and shared with so many around the world? I am a cat rescuer, also, and know what it's like to save them from all manner of mistreatment. Being in a rural setting all my life, ours are always partly outdoor dwellers, so occasionally they just disappear. We have 7 at the moment (had one for 9 years, 2 others for 4), another 2-3 many show up in the next few days. We had 10 a couple months ago. I was just thinking today of starting a blog and call it the Kansas Kat Kabana or Kat-Kwarters or Kat Kasita or, I don't know! Thank you so much for providing such a comfortable life and loving care for Sweet Umi. I still have a year of your blog to catch up on... I hope Tsuru is still well - and perhaps has a new friend in the home? I will keep reading.. NOW! ((HUGS!)) from Tatikan Sher
