Francesca
While tatting this pattern I had this strange feeling the tatting was all wrong. I had to unpick several times because of this. It was not easy during the first few repeats but after that, it gets more manageable.
This is Francesca from Iris Niebach's book Tatted Doilies. I spotted a few mistakes in my tatting but I'll let it go. Tatted in Coats Mercer Size 20 threads in Ecru (#625), it needed about 34m per shuttle and the doily measures about 9 inches across. I must try Amanda next.

Oh, that's pretty =) I love how delicate it looks.
ReplyDeletethat looks very nice, and complicated, tho I know that Iris's pattern are not too difficult when you break them down.
ReplyDeleteSo delicate! I love the "movement" in this piece. My eye just wants to trace each line!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Light and airy, and it looks perfectly tatted to me!
ReplyDeleteFrancesca is beautiful! That's a pattern I've never attempted, but it is on my to-do list.
