Kreuzmotive - 6 repeats

WIP completed?

For now, it is. It measures only about 11 by 7 inches. Still too small for a table mat. 4 by 3 repeats would be more feasible but that would mean I am only half done. I definitely do not have enough threads on the ball for another 6 repeats.

I did split rings to connect the repeats. Would you notice it, if I did not mention it?

  1. WOW. Lovely colours and what a piece. It looks larger than 11 by 7 too. That is what I'd class as an heirloom.

  2. From the distance of clear across the world, (he he) the joining rings are so tiny it is hard to see them. but when I enlarged the pic, I do see them. Wow, that really adds a finishing touch, attention to detail makes the work shine. These are really good colors together, who would have thought.
11X7 is large enough for a centerpiece.

  4. That is gorgeous! No, I probably would not notice the split rings, unless I was specifically looking for them!

  6. I am too bedazzled to even wonder how you joined those together. And even knowing you used split rings, I can't quite comprehend how you even did that! This is just an amazing piece! You have way more patience than I do! It's just beautiful.

  8. P.S. It's so pretty that maybe you need a "plane ride and a week's vacation" and make it larger?? Karen in OR

  11. Wow, that's beautiful. I love how it came out. In the earlier pictures I thought it would be bigger, but, you know, that's why they call it *lace*!

  13. Beautiful, no I would not have know about the split rings if you had not said so. It's beautifully tatted and could be used as a small doily.

  15. Thank you for all your comments.

Perhaps I will try to get more of the same colour threads. Otherwise I could start another 2 by 3 repeats in a different colour theme with the same threads.

Or I could be easily distracted by other patterns to tat.

This pattern is by Ruth Scharf in her book Neue Blatter on page 11.
