Tatting on Denim

You have seen the tatting before here and here. I used the fabric glue on them and it went onto this denim skirt for my niece. I have not seen her since last Christmas so I just bought a larger size. I am quite sure it will be not fit her yet.

Tatting on T-shirts

I showed you the clown tatting here. I finally found the printed (hardcopy) pattern and the tatted clown pattern is by Pam Palmer. I got this pink t-shirt which is probably too big for my 2.5 year old niece but she will grow into it.

The other t-shirt is for my 18 year old niece. It is actually peach but it looks pink here. The tatted butterfly was posted here earlier.

I used a fabric glue to fasten the tatting to the t-shirts. It is not too bad and quite easy to use. Earlier last month, I tried the fabric glue to attach a small tatted flower onto a pair of shorts and subjected it to several washings in the machine. Happy to say that it is still fastened on and I am very happy with the results.

Bookmarks - Hearts

I have been busy tatting bookmarks as gifts. I tatted the hearts over the past year and have just been adding split ring tails and charms to them.

The above two are done using Birgit Phelps SweetHeart pattern.

These three are tatted using Teresa Woods Ombre heart pattern.

This is tatted using My Heart pattern by Eileen Stafford.

And this one is another Birgit Phelps' pattern called Li'l Heart.

Buddhist Temple in Penang

We made a trip to Penang in June with mom, my sister's family, my youngest brother and his wife. It was a road trip from KL for them. It was their first visit to Penang for my niece and nephews and our first visit to this Siamese Buddhist temple Wat Chaiyamangkalaram.

Lotus candles
It was about closing time and the temple was quite empty and peaceful. We are not Buddhists but it was lovely to admire the beautiful statues and architecture.

Celtic Motif

Another one from Rosemarie Peel's 'Tatting for Pleasure' book. I made a mistake with the third round which is in pink here. The pink chain should go under the dark peach ring before joining to the burnt orange picot. Tatted in Flora Size 20 threads in colour #208, #211 and #234.

Package from Yuliya

This package is from Yuliya in Russia. We did a thread exchange. The first package got lost in the mail but Yuliya so kindly sent a second package. This time I nearly did not receive it, but all turned out well. I collected it from the post office on Saturday.

You can see the different threads which are from Russia and Turkey. Now I get to try them out. There is one labelled Camellia that is glossy white with a silver metallic thread which runs throught it. In some, she also included the thread label. Yuliya is so thoughtful.
Also, look at this purple motif which she tatted too. It is lovely.
Thank you so much Yuliya.
