If you love tatted lace, jewellery, plants and anything handcrafted, come back often. I will regularly post items that are made by me, plants that I grow and interesting things that I photograph.

Black Eyed Susan (MK#32)
I tatted the red black eyed susan first but found out too late that I joined the second row of tatting incorrectly and you can see that it is slightly skewed. So I decided to try again. This time is it joined correctly. So I have two black eyed susans.
I love the black eyed susan flower too. Very pretty if planted in groups and when they are in bloom.
This pattern is probably from Mary Konior's library book which I have returned to the library. I wish I could have kept it for myself.
Just double checked my notes. This pattern is from 'A Pattern Book of Tatting' by Mary Konior on pg 36.

March 2010 Giveaway
This month's giveaway is a pair of earrings made by me. I used a pair of orang asli clay bead in cherry pink with a maroon squiggle. These beads were handmade by the Lun Bawang, an indigenous minority of Sarawak in East Malaysia. The colour of the shell drops is a light baby pink but the colour does not appear so here. Ear hooks and findings are bronze-toned. The earrings measure approx. 5.2cm / 2.1inch including ear hook.
Just leave a comment by 23 March 2010 and your name will be put into a draw to win this.

Umi by the window bird watching
Umi loves looking out the window. However she forgets that she can do this because of the curtain. She is normally brought to the window by birds. The birds tend to perch and have conferences among themselves. When this happens, she will push the curtain aside and look out. The light makes her look so pretty so I took the opportunity to take some photos of her.

These two patterns are from Mary Konior. Top one is called wild rose (MK#20) tatted in Flora cotton thread size 20 in pink (#211). I also tatted a black edging called hen and chick (MK#21) in DMC Perle Cotton size 12. Both will be added to the quilt block.
