Hematite Bracelet

I distinctly remembered buying two strands of faceted hematite (6 & 10mm) because I loved how it subtly glitters. Since I was in the mood of making stretchy bracelets, I decided to make one for myself with the Chiangmai silver charms.

What about the (4mm diameter) sunstones? I found them a little too small for a bracelet so perhaps combined with a larger faceted stone, it may become a bracelet after all. Or maybe a long necklace.

Orange Crush Coaster

I looked hard for a pattern to tat. I went browsing into the Russian pattern book by Kurbatskaya and on page 78, I found an edging pattern for bread basket liner. It was those tiny rings in between the chains that fascinated me so I improvised the pattern into a coaster doily. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 40 Orange Crush Col. 183. How do you like it?

Deepavali Lights

The street decorations for Deepavali are up. It would be a fabulous sight at night but I have not seen it in the night. As always these were taken from a moving car so I did not have time to compose the photo but just shoot. In Singapore, it is celebrated on 10 November 2015.

Agate Bracelet

I made this for a friend's birthday. It is only 6 inches circumference and I hope it fits her. Made with lilac agate beads and Thai silver charms and beads. I remember getting the silver when we visited Chiangmai years back.

Alien Fruit

Does this fruit look strange to you. It is the dragon fruit. Someone recommended it because it fills you up without much calories and full of vitamins. I bought one to try. It is suppose to be sweet but this one isn't. I do like the crunch of the black seeds, something like the kiwi fruit. Will it be one of my favourites, . . . unlikely. Give me a persimmon any time.

TF #58

I did not twist the long picots enough. It should be twisted at least 3 turns. This is from the Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito's book on page 57. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 Caribbean Col. 122 and Gold Col. 611.

Online Shopping 1

I have been happily spending money online,
no not on tatting supplies but
on these essence masks, among other things.

They make great little gifts for women and men friends.
Go ahead, pamper yourself at home on a lazy weekend.
I especially love the snail essence mask.

TF #61

Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 Grape Splash Col. 165 and Gold Col. 611. It is from the Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito's book on page 57. I think it is suppose to resemble a pansy but mine looks more like a spider's web. Should have made some picots a little smaller.

Petai with Prawns

This is one of my favourite dishes. These petai beans have a distinctly strong aroma and taste. It is not everyone's cup of tea but I love it. I stir fried some with prawns and sambal belacan (chilli and fermented shrimp paste). It's best eaten with rice cooked in coconut milk.

Opal and Ruby Bracelet

I found a strand of pink opal in my stash and remembered my sister wanted a stretchy bracelet. She wanted me to pick out the opal beads which were not dotted black. It was quite difficult as almost every bead had some black inclusions.

To make it pretty, I got some faceted ruby beads to alternate with. I think I will make one for myself with sunstone beads.

TF #46

Found in Teiko Fujito's Tatted Fashion book on page 47 and 90. It is part of a wide edging for a tablecloth. Tatted in Flora size 20 Col. 234.

Do you see the v-shaped element formed by the chain in the last two rounds? I like that. In the book, it looks a little different because the shared picot is made larger.
