If you love tatted lace, jewellery, plants and anything handcrafted, come back often. I will regularly post items that are made by me, plants that I grow and interesting things that I photograph.

Entwined Arms of the Cross
Another cross from Julie Patterson's book 'Knots and Crosses'. This was tatted sometime back but I forgot to post this. I remembered taking a photo but it was blurred and later forgot all about it. Done in Omega Size 50 threads.

Rose - Corners or Centrepiece?
I finished the Rose edging which I posted earlier. But, should I use it as corners or as a centrepiece? Any suggestions?

Jane's Parrots
You guessed it! No eyes. Pattern is from Jane Eborall found here. I made a mistake with the third parrot on the far right and it now has a different shape but it works too. I added an extra ring somewhere.

Szechuan Hot and Sour Soup
Hot meaning spicy and sour due to lots of vinegar. I like it but it is often too spicy for me. It is gooey due to the cornstarch with bits of straw mushroom, shredded soft tofu, crunchy black fungus, bamboo shoots and beaten eggs. There are many recipes on the web.

Tatted Earrings #7
This is the last pair I tatted. You will have to wait a while before the earring muse comes to visit again. This one is red and gold. Enjoy!

Rose Edging
I chose to get this pattern book - Fantasia 3 by Iris Niebach because of this pattern called rose. This is tatted in the bright colours of Lizbeth Size 20 Tropical Punch #132. I decided to only do them as corners. The other corner is still in progress but it should not take too long. Attaching them to the final product may take me longer to accomplish.

Frangipanni Shuttle
I got carried away with the varnish on this one. Layered it on too thick I guess, . . but it is fine! Nail decals add a little sparkle onto this Clover shuttle.

Jane's Robins
Two robins from a pattern by Jane Eborall found here. I know the colours are all wrong but I just wanted them colourful. Again I left the bead out of the eye. I will need to improvise when I put them into the new project I am planning for.

Desert Rose
This plant is called Adenium and more information on it can be found here. This was taken at a garden bazaar show. Many varieties with lovely blooms. I do not have this plant as my balcony does not get much sun. I once bought a pure white one but it died on me and mind you this is a difficult plant to kill.

Chameleon
Now isn't he a handsome fellow? This is a pattern from Jane Eborall and you can find it here. I tatted this in Milford Size 40. I was not too sure how the eye was tatted but it ended up like this. I am very happy with it and he is so animated. Love the legs, the tail and the expression. Thank you Jane.

Southern Cross
One more cross pattern from Julie Patterson. This is quite a large cross measuring 8 by 6 inches. Tatted using two shuttles in one round in Milford Size 20 threads. I used about 11 metres of thread per shuttle. I think it would also look interesting using a different colour in each shuttle.

Tatted Earrings #5
I wanted them to look like snowdrops but it did not turn out as expected but it still has its charm. Note the dark and light green Delica beads.
Snowdrops have such pristine beauty. So delicate and simple. I have not had the pleasure to see one yet but I am sure it's exquisite!

Buttercup Cross
I finally tried the Kopi Luwak (from here). It tasted rich with a slight difference but I could not put a finger on it.

Starfish Shuttle
Another blinged Clover shuttle. Front is decorated with starfish and the back with flowers. All are nail decals from my collection. I originally bought them for nails but these days they find themselves on shuttles instead. I varnish them with two coats to ensure that the nail decal do not peel off easily. It works well.

Hedgehogs
Another distraction while I am tatting edgings. I like this colorway. Great for animals. It is Manuela No.10 Color 150. You can find the pattern for this at Be-Stitched.

Ladder of Flowers
Tatted in Sun Dappled Forest Perle Size 12 |
Tatted in Milford Black Size 20 |
Strung through velvet covered headbands |
This pattern is from Julie Patterson's book Just Marking Tome. The first one I tatted was with threads from Elena. What a lovely shade of sun dappled forest. I thought I had enough thread to make a fourth flower but I was wrong so you see the picots in the last two rings which are not in the pattern. I could continue and make two more flowers to cover more of the headband. I tatted four flowers with the black one. You could also slip a satin ribbon through them.
