A friend and I spent an afternoon at the National Museum in July. We planned to meet at 10:30 am but I went to the wrong venue as I thought we were to meet at the National Gallery. No matter, after some walking and a short bus ride. I was there, 15 mins later. We spent a couple of hours at the exhibits before and after lunch. I have lived in Singapore for over 30 years but it was my first visit to this museum. It was a lovely afternoon. Have you visited a museum recently?
The Natural history museum in Bulawayo was one of our favourite places to visit when my children were growing up.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, It must have been memorable for them too. Happy family excursions.

ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting.
DeletePlease tell me where this museum is in Singapore as we are visiting our son and family in December. It looks like an old colonial building. Glad you finally got to the right place!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally, It is right in the heart of town facing Singapore Management University. There are a few museums around the area. Even if you end up in a different museum, it is still worth a visit. This may help https://www.timeout.com/singapore/things-to-do/best-museums-in-singapore
DeleteMany thanks for that information Wendy, much appreciated
DeleteIt's often the way, isn't it, that even though you have lived somewhere for a long time, you seem to put off visiting the landmarks! I love museums, the best one I have explored in recent years is the wonderful Canadian museum of Civilisation in Gatineau. My son took me there when I stayed with him in Ottawa, we walked across the bridge to get to it, and it was a lovely afternoon.
ReplyDeleteYes, isn't it? We should take time to visit. Glad it reminded you of that visit, Maureen.
DeleteIt quite normal to live in a place and never go to these places, I live near Bath but I rarely go to Bath, glad you meet up and had a good day
ReplyDeleteOur Carnegie M useum has dinosaur exhibits that blow my mind. To stand next to the skeletons of these giant creatures is both frightening and overwhelming. They also have wonderful 'archeological digs' for children. The Egyptian and Roman exhibits are fascinating. I can't imagine what it would be like to actually visit the Forum in Rome or the Pyramids in Egypt!
