This is not pretty. It did not turn out like the pattern in the book. I am a little disappointed. It looked like an interesting pattern but I must have blocked it all wrong. The outer chains should be more rounded.
Pattern is found in Tatting with Anne Orr on page 16 and 30. Tatted in Lizbeth Twirlz Size 20 Col. 407 Midnight Mist.
I like the way you see all kinds of shapes in this pattern. Would it work to reblock so the chains relax a bit? I tend to tat tight, so my chains tend to only curve. This pattern would give me trouble I think.
ReplyDeleteOh I think it is beautiful, and you have a talent for blocking it makes things angular lots of times. This one if you want it rounded, I don't think it needs to be blocked with pins just rewash it and lay it out flat. You are to critical of your self this is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt looks very nice even if it isn't what the pattern showed!! :)
ReplyDeleteIs the thread Twirlz? I sometimes find that Twirlz distorts the pattern. Maybe it's something about the threads being twisted together.
ReplyDeleteYes it is Twirlz, Diane. Could that be a reason. I might have to tat this again.
DeleteI'm not sure if I like lizbeth twrilz, I have not tried it yet. But something when I see the thread does not endear me with it
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity the motif did not turn out as you hoped, hope you try again.
My exact feelings about the Twirlz threads too. But it may give a pattern an interesting but good effect, unlike here in this instance.
