If you love tatted lace, jewellery, plants and anything handcrafted, come back often. I will regularly post items that are made by me, plants that I grow and interesting things that I photograph.

Ferris Wheel
Ferris Wheel pattern is by Jane Eborall and can be found here. I just saw that Fox has tatted one too here. Thank you Jane for a wonderful pattern. Next one to try is Twirly.
The pattern can be tatted using a SCMR for the centre or with a button. The first one on the left was tatted with Venus Size 40 threads in light and dark peach. It measures about 2.5 inches across using up about 3.5 to 4.0m of thread in each shuttle.
The second is tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 in Azalea Medium (#620) and Tropical Punch (#132). That one measured about 3.25 inches across using up about 4.5 to 5.0m of thread.

Here is the seashell coaster in yellow. Tatted this in Milford Mercer Size 20 threads in Sunshine. The pattern is from Susanne Rolf's Mustersammlung book on page 42.

Heidi #2
I gave the earlier Heidi to mom. Most of the time I cannot remember what I give away and to whom but this one I remembered because she chose this out of 2 or 3 crosses I showed her. It is quite difficult to please mom.

Pebbled Walk
I took a number of photos of different paved walkways. This one is just pebbles. Difficult to walk on if you are in heels, so comfortable walking shoes are a must. The problem with comfortable shoes is that they are never in a fashionable design that goes with your wardrobe. What is your most comfortable walking shoe?

Spider, Spider
This pattern is one by Dianna Stevens called Spider. Another to add to the collection of tatted animals. I could not make the hanging spider's silk longer as I need it to fit the block.

Tsuru's Tummy Rub
Tsuru gets a tummy rub every night. She loves it. This is in between tatting, watching TV and surfing the web on the computer. I find that she loves her routine and she gets upsets when there are any disruptions to it.

Silvia
This is an edging pattern in the book Fantasia 3 by Iris Niebach. Edging a hanky with this pattern would definitely take some effort so I made a little frame instead.

Japanese Sweet Desserts
To end a meal with little mouthfuls of sweets - from left strawberry marshmallows, yuzu with lime and red bean jellies. Served with the frothy Japanese green tea. Sweet and bitter. Perfect!

The Durian Fruit
Some of you were curious about the durian. It is a tropical fruit which we love. It has a pungent and distinct aroma that you either love or hate. This is the part that we eat - a custard looking flesh which surrounds the seeds. I forgot to take a photo of the fruit but they pretty much look like this.

Tree Frogs
I am tatting a collection of animals for a quilt project. I think I have enough for more than one quilt. I am also trying not to use any beads and may embroider the eyes in later. This is Jane Eborall's red eyed tree frog but as you can see no red eyes or bugle beads toes for mine. I used Perle Anchor Perle Cotton 8 in Col. 1215 variegated green and DMC Cotton Perle 8 in Col. 51 variegated orange. They measure about 2.5 inches. This is a very clever pattern and I really enjoyed it. Thank you Jane! What does this shape remind you of?

Workbasket Doily Completed
It is very colourful. I have not used so many different colours in one doily before. After blocking the 'green vine' round flattened out nicely. Tatted in one colour would give this doily a very different look as in the pattern booklet - 'Snowflake in a Circle Doily' from the Workbasket May 1956 issue. Thank you Sheila.

Flamingos
After taking the photo, I wondered if I put two flamingos facing each other, it would make a heart shape. This is Jane Eborall's pattern and I used three different variegated pink Perle cotton 8. It turned out quite large in size about 6 inches in height.

More Earrings
These two pairs of earrings were made for Ellen and Gunhild for their participation in the rose arrangement challenge last month.

Workbasket Doily WIP 5
I am tatting the last round of this doily. So far it looks like this. Is it too colourful?
Round 8 is Lizbeth Size 40 in Lilac Dk (#641) and Round 9 is Lizbeth Size 40 in Red Burst (#147). The rings in Round 9 seem too small, as not in the correct scale but it adds some interest. Will block and take a photo to show you in a few days time.
On another note, I think I finally got the interlocking rings.

Gifts from Judy
Yesterday's post brought gifts from Judy. Two tatting pattern books and 6 balls of Lizbeth. I do not know why I deserve these gifts but thank you so much Judy. You are most generous. That pretty card has my favourite cherry blossoms.
My progress in mastering the interlocking rings continues. The top looks good but the last ring is not interlocking with the first ring.
I am not so sure whether the bottom one is correct. These were my attempts last night. After reading your comments on the last post, I will try it again. Thank you so much for your encouragement.

Interlocking Rings
I am still getting it wrong. I have to try again but I did get the interlocking rings in a chain. I hope that is correct. Perhaps the thread gap is too long.

Southern Rosebud Tree
I found this tree most unusual and beautiful. Another photo from our travels. Hopefully spring is here or will arrive soon wherever you are.

Workbasket Doily WIP 4
Round 1 - Venus Size 40 Black
Round 2 - Lizbeth Size 40 Jelly Bean #119
Round 3 - Milford Size 40 Black
Round 4 - Lizbeth Size 40 Spring Green #680
Round 5 - Milford Size 40 Black
Round 6 & 7 - Lizbeth Size 40 Jelly Bean #119
The doily is cupping a little. Round 4 may have longer than expected chains. I was going to alternate the rounds with the above threads but I do not have enough black to complete one more round. So I am going to use a different colour for Round 8. Hopefully the colour will pop.

Signs on Bus
No smoking;
No eating or drinking;
No durians;
No animals;
I was probably bored;

Workbasket Doily WIP 3
Round 1 - Venus Size 40 Black
Round 2 - Lizbeth Size 40 Jelly Bean #119
Round 3 - Milford Size 40 Black
Round 4 - Lizbeth Size 40 Spring Green #680
No brilliant blue as I was not brave. I used a matching solid colour of Spring Green. Yes the 'odd man out' ring in Round 2 was the reason I had to undo twice - first for not being observant and second for joining to the wrong picot. Sometimes, simple is not so simple.
