Peek into August Project 1

This is mom when she was twenty. She will be seventy this August and I am making this for her birthday. She is standing on a wooden bridge at a famous landmark in the town she grew up in.

  4. Thank you Annie, Tattycat and Valerie for your comments. Yes it is made with love and sweat. My 20-year old sewing machine was fighting with me. Nearly burnt out the plastic casing of the sewing machine motor. Not taking into account the hot weather and working in a room without the air conditioner. But I am quite happy to see how it turned out. I made 20 of these blocks with different photos. Will show you the finished product after I present it to mom.

  6. Dear Pat,
Very much inspired by your fabulous crazy quilting. I could not get the hang of it on my own and finally decided to go for a class. Brigitte, my teacher was great and it was so easy after she showed me how. Not too crazy, as it does have some structure. I will not have time to embellish and also did not want to take away the main focus of the photos. I hope mom will like it.
