If you love tatted lace, jewellery, plants and anything handcrafted, come back often.
I will regularly post items that are made by me, plants that I grow and interesting things that I photograph.
This is mom when she was twenty. She will be seventy this August and I am making this for her birthday. She is standing on a wooden bridge at a famous landmark in the town she grew up in.
Thank you Annie, Tattycat and Valerie for your comments. Yes it is made with love and sweat. My 20-year old sewing machine was fighting with me. Nearly burnt out the plastic casing of the sewing machine motor. Not taking into account the hot weather and working in a room without the air conditioner. But I am quite happy to see how it turned out. I made 20 of these blocks with different photos. Will show you the finished product after I present it to mom.
Wendy!!!! I love the piecing, love the colors, love the idea of your beautiful surprise for your mom's birthday. She will adore it. The sepia photo is just perfect with your fabrics. What a lovely picture of your mom. Hugs,Pat
Dear Pat, Very much inspired by your fabulous crazy quilting. I could not get the hang of it on my own and finally decided to go for a class. Brigitte, my teacher was great and it was so easy after she showed me how. Not too crazy, as it does have some structure. I will not have time to embellish and also did not want to take away the main focus of the photos. I hope mom will like it.
What a wonderful idea. Your mother is going to love it. That's such a beautiful photo too.
