Flamingos

This pattern is one of Jane Eborall's. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 #132, Tropical Punch. I could not find my black thread in size 20, so I used a size 40 black for its beak.

I am tempted to tat the toucan next. Now I really have to go look for the size 20 black threads. I hate looking for things. A sign telling me not to hoard.

  1. Those are splendid. Last week we drove through Kimberley where there is a lake full of flamingos. Usually they're bunched around the edge of the lake, but now they're spread out all over. We wondered if that's because there's a drought, the water level may be low.

    1. How wonderful to see flamingos in the wild. Must be a beautiful sight.

If I wanted to see flamingos, I could go to the bird park.

  2. Both of them look good. I think the beaks look fine. If you used size 40 for the birds did you need size 20 for the beaks?

    1. Jane's pattern calls for the same sized thread for both body and beak. I was just lazy and used threads at hand, threads which I did not had to look for. I think using the same sized thread for the beak would be best.

  3. Both look gorgeous and I don't think the thinner black thread is that bad in fact I think it's better.
    Well done two beautiful birds
