It is pretty as is but it is part of a larger pattern. 

Two rounds later and this is what resulted.

I thought the last round had too many rings and my laziness in blocking did not help. This doily pattern is from The Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito on page 35. I liked the six radiating spokes of the design. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 in Raspberry Pink Light Col. 623 and Springtime Col. 115.

Simple Butterfly

You can see that at 2 points, I made mistakes. This is too fiddly for my liking. Perhaps with more practice, it will be better. This pattern is from Rozella Linden's book Tatted Butterfly Garden on page 12.

I went back to the book - Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 Blue River Glades Col.164. There are some mistakes but it was too late to unpick so I left it. I don't think it is too noticeable.

Souvenir from Turkey

I have not visited Turkey but a friend did and this was a gift from her. She remembered that I love bath soaps and this olive oil one came in a very pretty package and you get a nice tin after having used the soap. Can you make out the tin design from the first photo and the little bear charm?

Lighted Up

Tiny lights making up this signage which reads Gunpla, a Japanese company selling model kits. I did not know it was so popular. Lots of people were at this expo. I happen to visit the mall to meet girlfriends when both commented that their sons made these models.

What fascinated me was that this signage was on the ceiling. I am not a regular visitor of this mall so I wondered if the signage installation is a regular feature programmed to read Gunpla or it was installed specially for the Gunpla Expo.

An unusual shaped pattern found in the Occhi book by Langwieser and Scharowa on page 103. It is the book with the lovely peacock on the front cover. I used Lizbeth Size 20 Springtime Col. 115. Tatted in one round with one shuttle and a few SLTs.

Coffee with Butter

Someone mentioned how good this was and we just had to try it. It was a Sunday afternoon after lunch at the nasi padang place in Kandahar Street and we drove to look for this old coffee shop for the butter coffee. It was surprisingly good. It was in a 'time-stood-still' coffee shop with old round marble tables that we found an elderly man making coffee the old traditional way. The familiar clanking of the lid to the boiling water reservoir and the coffee sock in a metal tumbler. Just like how my aunt would make coffee when she ran a coffee shop way back then. Note how the coffee looks, resembling the well used marble table.

New Munchies

Tsuru gets sick of her usual food fast so once in a while, I get her new kibble as a treat. She is quite the food taster. She has been known to leave out kibble she does not fancy.
