False African Violet

Many new blooms have appeared since I fertilised it. We got this at the garden shop when we were at Gardens by the Bay to see the Spalliera weeks ago.

The name on the pot says it is Streptocarpus saxorum 'Concord Blue'. So far it seems easy enough to grow. Took cuttings and they have not died on me yet.

Space-dyed Classic Doily WIP1

I thought this was tatted using only two different colour threads but after studying the diagram (without reading the instructions), I realised I needed another colour. Something similar to the earlier Morimoto square flower. I think I am beginning to like it.  This one is on page 89.

Lanterns in Chinatown

We had fish bee hoon soup and beef hor fun for dinner and it was a nice evening stroll after. The lanterns were lighted up so pretty. It was a cool windy night so walking was quite pleasant.

My Marigold Seedlings

It has been 5 weeks since I sowed the marigold seeds. They are growing but not as fast as I was hoping they would. It has been raining and the December skies have been gloomy and cloudy. The weatherman said it would clear up this month and we can get more sunshine for these young seedlings.

Yes, you got it absolutely right in this post. They are marigold. I am not particularly fond of them but they do brighten up the garden.

Square Flower -WIP1

Pattern is by Tomoko Morimoto on page 79.
It is actually a pattern for a make-up bag but
I doubt mine will end up as such.
Tatted in Lizbeth size 40 threads - #150, #168 & #697.
I followed the use of the three shades in the pattern although I find the sequence a little strange.
Perhaps it is meant to appear random.

A single bloom on the grass lawn.
Pretty.

Daisy Heart #2

I wanted to tat this again in a solid colour thread as compared to the first. But I got side tracked with this Lizbeth Size 20 Grape Splash (#165).

Daisy heart is a pattern from Aunt Ellen's Treasury Tatting Patterns on page 56.

Numb-ing

I had only a mouthful of this as the Szechuan pepper was so spicy and numbing. I loved the sliced fish, beansprouts, wood ear fungi, soya noodle strips and bean vermicelli but it was just too spicy for me.

Try it if you happen to visit Paradise Dynasty restaurants in Singapore.

My Potpourri Sachets

These were gifts to friends for Christmas
I poured some potpourri in the sachets and
candles in the top two.
