Tatting for Nectar 2

The colours here are reverse of the first one. Please see last week's post for pattern details. I am tempted to tat more of this in different colours. I have to bring out my other Milford Mercer Size 20 threads and decide what colours to tat with next. Shall I go colourful or neutral?

Lunch in JB

We had a craving for Har Cheong Kai (Shrimp paste fried chicken). We had lunch at a coffee shop in JB near the car wash that we frequent. We also ordered the fried bee hoon (rice vermicelli) and stir fried sweet potato leaves. 

Both the vegetable and chicken were pretty good but I felt that they could have used better quality bee hoon as this was a little starchy. The bee hoon dish was better at another place in JB however over there, the wait can be quite long as it is very popular. I hate fighting the crowd for my food.

Tube Sculptures

I really should have read the information panel but I was quite mesmerised by it and did not notice the label. I will take a look the next time I visit. I hope it will still be there.

Cream Pearl Bracelet

This stretchy bracelet is made with cream fresh water pearls, fuchsia Swarovski bicones and a focal enamel bead from Bangkok. It is made for an 8 inch wrist but I can adjust it to fit.

Tatting for Nectar

When we were visiting a friend in Shanghai last October, she had just signed a lease to open a cafe. I thought I would tat something for her cafe. Her DH designed the interior and I thought these hexagons would fit in nicely.

Tatted in Milford Mercer Size 20 in black and lemon. The pattern is from page 28 of Ha Mi-Kyoung's book 'Tatting lace with your life'. It is a variation of the pattern Butterfly Effect which is listed on page 26. If the butterfly was a bee, it would fit in perfectly.

This bracelet is made for a 7 inch wrist but I can make the necessary adjustments to fit your wrist. These are fresh water pearls with tiny black spinel beads and a focal enamel bead from Bangkok.

Layer Cake from Lavender

A friend bought this layer cake for us. We had it for tea last weekend. It is from Lavender bakery in Johor Bahru. It was moist and pretty good. The spices used here are slightly different from the Bengawan Solo layer cake. Yes, the cake batter is baked layer by layer.

This one is done in Lizbeth Size 40 Col. 155 Ocean Sunset and Col. 635 Violet Pink Dark. Perhaps I can make a collage with all the Dahlias.
