Flawed Daisy

This was an interesting pattern. During rounds 2 and 3, it seemed like there were too many stitches but in round 4, it all worked out and the design element was revealed.

I was too eager to finish this daisy that I forgot the last chain. Then I realised that my daisy had 13 petals instead of 12. Where did I go wrong? So it is back to the beginning.

Snowflake Motif

This looks fine but it wasn't much fun to tat. Too fiddly for my liking. I had more leftover thread in my shuttle so this is done in Lizbeth size 80 #701 English rose dark. Pattern is found in Aunt Ellen's Treasury - Tatting Patterns on page 46.

I have also found the next pattern for tatting in this book. That will be in the next post.

Penang's Famous Food Truck

We do not visit Penang often enough. The first time we went looking for this, it was the late 90s. It was by a coffee shop in Tanjung Bungah. My father insisted we drove around until we found him. Yes we did. Bananas, sweet potato, tapioca, yam etc. dipped in batter and fried twice. A fantastic snack. Never miss having this, whenever we visit Penang.

Small Flower Bookmark

I had lots of thread left in the shuttle and decided to try this out. A bookmark pattern in Tomoko Morimoto's book on page 58. In Lizbeth Size 80 (#110 & #701) this little bookmark measures only 3 inches in length without the tassel.

Lexus LF-LC

A car is a car. It gets you from point A to point B. Or so they say but a thing of beauty is to be admired.

I've never been to an auto show but we had tickets to this one. I was disappointed there were not more beautiful cars at the show. 

Space-dyed Classic Doily

This is tatted in Lizbeth Size 80 Desert bloom (#110), English rose dark (#701) and Fudge medium (#698). The pattern is found in Tomoko Morimoto's book New Tatting. It measures about 6 inches across. I love the shape of this and the design is unusual. Many colour possibilities limited only by your imagination. Try it! Definitely a rewarding tat.

Episcia 'Unpredicted Valley'

I was really happy to see this in the garden shop. Remember I was looking for it ever since then. A nice addition to my Episcia collection. They do quite well in my balcony but I am trying very hard not to kill this one. Over-watering is my folly. I have killed many succulents this way.

Square Flower Square Mat

This is complete for me. Instead of a make-up bag, its going to be a square mat. Pattern is found in Tomoko Morimoto's book New Tatting on page 79. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 40 in Latte foam (#168), Rootbeer float(#150) and Fudge dark (#697). It measures about 4.5 inches square.

Sea Urchin Sedum

Got this recently and looked up the web for identification. It is Sedum lineare 'Variegatum'. It has yellow flowers and I hope it will flower under my care. I already took cuttings to propagate them. I am in the gardening mood. I wish I could get into the quilting mood.

Space-dyed Classic Doily WIP2

Finished one more round for this Morimoto doily. The 3 rings nicely changed the round into an octagon. It looks like too much pink right now but hopefully that will change with the next round of 16 motifs.
