Brioche Con Gelato

It was ST's birthday lunch and we just had to try this
Tables are scarce since everyone wants to dine there.
We just walked in early at noon.
We shared an antipasti of crispy stuffed risotto balls.
ST had the cannelloni - good.
I had the lamb chops - a little overdone.
This dessert was nothing fancy -
strawberry and lemon gelato with warm buns.
Service was fast.
We loved the restaurant decor and ambience.
Food presentation was very 'Jamie'.

Vintage Edging No. 88999

Christmas colours for this edging. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 #116 Christmas Delight. It was meant for a white towel but I think the design would be best appreciated on a darker contrasting colour. The pattern is found on page 78 of The Tatter's Treasure Chest edited by Mary Carolyn Waldrep.

La Sagrada Familia

One of the first places we visited in Barcelona last October was Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia. We were really tired after an overnight flight of 14 hours. But it did not fail to awe you. It is a Roman Catholic church designed by Antoni Gaudi. Construction started in 1882 and it is still not finished.

Our 1st view of it from Montjuic Park (location of the 1992 Olympic Games Stadium).

Spiral Bookmarks

This is The Tatting Goddess' Spiral Bookmark which is a pattern adapted from Rita Weiss Tatting Doilies and Edgings.

I just cannot believe how two colours can transform this pattern. I have tatted these before but after looking at Margaret's I wanted to try them again. Top is done in Milford Size 20 and the other is tatted in Venus Size 40.

Grooming Tsuru

She may look tortured here
but she is actually enjoying it very much,
especially when you comb her neck.
Now who does not like a neck scratch?

Basket Edging

This is a vintage pattern found on Tatting Pattern Central. Tatted In Lizbeth Size 20 in #152 Christmas Green Mix. Another edging for a pink draw string pouch. This colourway is not the best to show off this pattern. Perhaps it should be tatted in a solid pastel colour instead.

Green Wall

This is a side entrance wall of a hotel in a refurbished shop house. The main star of this green wall is the stag horn fern. Surrounding plants are hoyas, bromeliads and tillandsias. No soil required and since it is so humid here, you probably only need to mist it once every week.

Paintbrush Edging

This edging pattern is found on page 52 of this book - Occhi Schiffchenspitze Frivolite by Marianne Langwieser and Tatiana Scharowa. It reminded me of tulips. I used Lizbeth Size 20 Paintbrush (#126). It measures slightly less than an inch in width. I used it to edge a turquoise bamboo hand towel.

Pancakes Galore

I love pancakes. When we found this cafe, I had to try it. Service was prompt and I was amazed at the variety of pancakes on the menu. AAA had the savoury and I had the sweet. He was not keen on this cafe but he still does those little things to please me.

Two Shades of Purple

This is a pattern from Occhi Schiffchenspitze Frivolite by Marianne Langwieser and Tatiana Scharowa on page 79. It is such a sweet pattern. I liked how it turned out. Tatted in Flora Size 20 threads in two shades of purple. I wanted to put some tatting on this draw string pouch which I bought.
