Delia

This took a long time to complete. I was tatting this in between small projects. Had to unpick a few times and the thread showed bits of white spots (undyed) but it isn't obvious. The pattern is called Delia from Iris Niebach's 'Tatted Doilies' on page 30. This is Lizbeth Size 40 Col 656 (Dark Wedgewood) and it took approximately 65 metres of thread. It measures approx. 8.5 inches (21.5 cm).

  1. Wonderfully delicate.

I cannot see the colour very well on my screen, but I bet it is rich and luscious! I love Wedgwood Blue.

Lovely tatting. I am sure it took a long while to complete. Congrats!

  2. Wow - absolutely stunning! Congrats on completing it - I admit I have only ever done one complete doily myself (Although I did participate in a round robin once).

  3. That is a gorgeous pattern. I like how open and airy it is. I also love that thread color. In person, that thread is so rich and vibrant, it almost looks alive. (Or maybe I'm just weird.) Anyway, beautiful doily, beautiful color choice.

  4. Wow! I've been wanting to do that one. I'm a little intimidated by all of those long chains.

  5. Oooh...this is SO pretty and lacy, delicate-looking! I'll bet it was so dark that it was hard to see clearly while tatting.

  7. It is a pretty pattern from Iris. I was really glad when it was completed. I do not usually take such a long time but I just had to take long breaks in between. Yes, the chains were difficult for me to control too. I do like the lacy delicate effect and the colour. Just needed a brightly lit area when tatting this.
