TF #41

I was too impatient to start this pattern. I did not study the pattern thoroughly and had to stop here.

After starting a second time, this is what it should look like.

The darker 'stars' should have been tatted first and then joined to the centre.

I think the shape of this motif is visually very appealing.
Pattern is from The Tatted Artistry of Teiko Fujito.

Tatted in Flora Size 20 in #208 and #234.

Deepavali Peacock

I could only photograph from this angle.
At the perfect viewpoint, you would see two peacocks on each side of the road leading to Little India.
I think the tail is made up of plastic flowers.
The street decorations are for the festival which will be celebrated tomorrow.
By now you may know I take most of the street photos from the passenger seat of a moving car.

Pattern #48 & 52

I love this flower pattern. Did you notice the 3 rings which form the inner whorl? Genius!

The flowers are from pattern #48 of Emiko Kitao's Tatting Lace -Corsage & Accessories. The leaves are from pattern #52. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 40 in Kelly Green Medium Col. 712 and Ocean Sunset Col. 155.

I like how this turned out.

Early Christmas Tree?

No, it isn't a tree that was decorated early for Christmas.
Instead a flowering climber that has found its way around a conifer.

Pretty!

Pattern #11

Another edging from Emiko Kitao's Tatting Lace - Flower Accessories. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 40 Col.156 Juicy Watermelon and Col. 187 Green Ice. The flowers are tatted first before joining to the leaves and stem. I like how it turned out. The colours are very soothing.

What is in the Tree?

It is a wild hornbill.
I have only seen this bird in the zoo.
What a rare encounter.
We were visiting mom's hometown.
We also visited the house we stayed in when my sister and I were kids.
How strange that everything seems smaller than I remember.

Pattern #22 Completed

Strawberries added, but they look dehydrated, not plump and juicy.

It could end up as a choker or a bracelet.

One can decide.
I will add a ribbon long enough to wear either as
a choker or bracelet.

Freezer To Table

Caramel mille crepe cake.
It was not as good as a fresh one but it was fast.
From freezer to plate to satisfy my sweet tooth.
One more box in the freezer for another time.

Flowers for Pattern #22

White flowers with yellow beaded centres and 3D flower buds tatted in Venus Size 40 white thread and Lizbeth Size 40 Col. 180 Honey Drizzle. I am sure you know which pattern on the cover of Tatting Lace - Flower Accessories that I am tatting now. Lots of ends to sew in but I did the lazy thing and just knotted and glued. That is how I hide my ends, anyway . . . . .  horrors!!

All that is left to complete are little 3D berries.

Pampering Day Out

It was a lovely Mexican lunch for me and a girlfriend after an hour of pampering at the spa.

We have known each other since we came to Singapore but along the way, we got busy with our lives. Now it is time to catch up in between our still busy lives.

Pattern #22 WIP

I tatted one of the patterns shown on the cover of my new book by Emiko Kitao titled Tatting Lace - Flower Accessories.

It is not complete yet. These days, my tatting is slow. Will show you more in the next post. On its own, it would make a lovely bookmark, or an insertion.

Looking at it now, a chain to join the top and bottom row would make it look more complete. This was tatted in Lizbeth Size 40 in Seacrest Green Col. 714.

Best Time of the Day

Tsuru's waiting for her favourite time of the day!
Her after dinner treat.

Her other favourite?
Bedtime.

Birthday Gift

I am sure you recognize the tatting.

I attached it to this little batik fabric pouch which I bought from Melissa.

The jade necklace I made was placed inside the pouch.

That was the gift for a friend's birthday.
I also added a little lipstick.

I hope she liked it.

Pinwheel Flowers

Another plant with white flowers that I love.
Tabernaemontana divaricata.

This was taken outside One Km Mall in Tanjong Katong.

Happy!

Little things make me happy.
Nail art.
Jewellery.
Plants.
Tatting.

Tsuru, of course.

And lately,
eye shadow.

Pattern #49

This pattern can be found in Emiko Kitao's Tatting Lace Corsage and Accessories book on page 46. I also tatted 3 flowers (improvised) from Pattern #52 to add to this. Done in Lizbeth Size 40 in Col. 173 Purple Marble and Col. 714 Seacrest Green.

I might try a pattern from the other book Tatting Lace Flower Accessories. I noticed that both books are also available from Handy Hands and Tatting Corner, if anyone is interested.

New Sculpture

It is new to me!

I hardly go shopping at Orchard Road these days.
We were there for lunch one weekend and
we saw this at The Heeren.

More info here.
Children playing by a gigantic urn.
It is actually similar to a Peranakan design porcelain jar with lid like this one I have below.

Pattern #51

Another pattern from the new book by Emiko Kitao. It is an edging but I joined it to the start, thinking it would fit my coaster. However it was too large. The 3D flowers are two rings on top of each other. Tatted in Lizbeth Size 20 Christmas Green Mix Col. 152 and Flora Size 20 Col. 208.

Tsuru's New Favourite

As you know, our dear Tsuru is very picky about her food. Royal Canin kibble and nothing else.

Well, I tried giving her this and she loved it.
Unfortunately I managed to only buy 2 packets and it is all gone. I don't know how to get more without having to buy an air ticket.

Anyone going to Bangkok Tokyu supermarket at Mah Boon Krung?
