If you love tatted lace, jewellery, plants and anything handcrafted, come back often. I will regularly post items that are made by me, plants that I grow and interesting things that I photograph.

Stawasz Doily XVIII Completed
Lots of grey from Lizbeth 40 Charcoal Medium with splashes of pink from Lizbeth 40 Pink Marble. Only with a white background can you see the swirled petals. Only measures about 6.5 inches across.
If you tat it in a larger sized thread and in one colour, it would look more like the photo in the book. How would you tat it?

Perfect in your colours. SOOOOOO pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Jane. I thought it was too much grey and not enough pink.
DeleteIt's beautiful! I've started it in size 20 dark green. I had to stop because I haven't perfected picots on split rings. I do plan to get back to it, though!
ReplyDeleteDiane, You must try it out soon.
DeleteI like tatting things like this with quilting thread - they're very tiny, but delicate looking. I tatted this one in size 80 thread and it is very small, but still pretty. Also did it with quilting thread, and it was even smaller. Yours looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteDo you have photos to share. It would be lovely to see it in tiny thread
DeleteI like yours much better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle.
DeleteI think your version is more interesting than the white one. Wonderful sense of moveent.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, I think the white one in the book is pretty too.
DeleteNice! Mine was huge! I used the #40 Daiso thread - pastels - and it was very pretty, but quite big.
ReplyDeleteHi Fox, I looked up your doily. Pretty.
DeleteThanks! Like the thread? : )
DeleteLove the thread and colours too
DeleteLovely colour combination, I like your doily better than being tatted in the thicker thread
