Stawasz Doily XVIII Completed

Lots of grey from Lizbeth 40 Charcoal Medium with splashes of pink from Lizbeth 40 Pink Marble. Only with a white background can you see the swirled petals. Only measures about 6.5 inches across.

If you tat it in a larger sized thread and in one colour, it would look more like the photo in the book. How would you tat it?

    1. Thanks so much, Jane. I thought it was too much grey and not enough pink.

  2. It's beautiful! I've started it in size 20 dark green. I had to stop because I haven't perfected picots on split rings. I do plan to get back to it, though!

  3. I like tatting things like this with quilting thread - they're very tiny, but delicate looking. I tatted this one in size 80 thread and it is very small, but still pretty. Also did it with quilting thread, and it was even smaller. Yours looks very nice.

  5. Nice! Mine was huge! I used the #40 Daiso thread - pastels - and it was very pretty, but quite big.

  6. Lovely colour combination, I like your doily better than being tatted in the thicker thread
