Elderberry Jam Schwenke Motif x6 - Completed

This Elderberry Jam colourway turned out rather lovely. I like the effect of the dark and light shades. The two photos are of the same doily, just in a different light. The top photo is a better representation of the colour.

You would not immediately realize that it is made up of this motif. It was a little tedious as you really had to refer to the diagram to join the picots. After the 3rd motif, it was easier to complete.

  1. It's strange how taking a photo in different light changes the colour of the thread, I wish someone would tell me why. I get the same problems here and some of the light we have had over the last few months has made it hard to even sew in ends.
It's made a lovely doily from such an unusual motif.

  2. Wow. At first I thought it was a one-round marvel like Iris Niebach does. But this is pretty mind-boggling, too!

  3. It's gorgeous! Isn't it funny how the lighting can completely change the look of the colors?

  4. Very nice. It's hard to see the individual motifs, even after looking at the picture. I like the star shape in the middle and the negative spaces that make the circles surrounding the star. Who knew that triangle shape could make such an interesting doily.
