One day . . . . . is here!!
If you read yesterday's post, then you would not think the title strange. Well, since I found the photo, I wanted to show you this. The pattern is from Ruth Scharf and this was one doily I tatted all by myself after my tatting classes in 2006. I was intrigued at why I chose these colours but here it is . . . . bright and colourful. Both colours are from Olympus. There are mistakes so it looks a little warped. I am sure you can spot it. And this is one piece which could not lay flat without blocking. It was a mess!

You tried this doily after your tatting class? Very adventurous of you. After three years of tatting, I only managed to learn the split chain & ring from Jon last year.
ReplyDeleteThat is totally awesome!!! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique pattern! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning! I've never seen a tatting pattern like that before, and for you to have done that as a beginner is quite amazing! I don't see the mistakes, either. That is simply wonderful!
ReplyDeleteIs the pattern from a book or online?
wow! that is very pretty. the colors go well together. what an interesting stitch pattern in the pink areas.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty! Very unusual design and the colors are festive. I like it!
ReplyDeleteAt first, I couldn't believe the striped sections were tatted! It looks like weaving!
ReplyDeleteI was somehow unaware of Ruth Scharf's patterns, and now realize she specialized in block tatting, especially leaves. These shapes, however, look more geometric because of the unique striping.
I think this looks perfect, and is most unusual! Do I understand you no longer have the doily? I hope it has a happy home!
I have been trouble posting comments, but if the one I tried to post earlier has made it to you then just skip this one.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know that I really like that design!!! You did an awesome job!!! :)
Totally AWESOME!! Looks really pretty (I don't see anything wrong). Who's pattern is this?
ReplyDeleteTo jest piękne.
