Completed Hanky Edgings #1, #2 and #3

I wanted to post these earlier but the thought of washing, blocking and ironing didn't really appeal to me. I also needed to get a board large enough for blocking the hanky.  Now what did they say about lazy bones?

I was also experimenting how best to display the hanky for photographs. For more info about the pattern and thread details, check out the previous posts here - #1, #2, #3.

  2. What a lovely display of hankies! I especially like your posy pocket at the top!

I have three hankies in progress right now, including the pretty blue rose hanky from you. I think I'd better get tatting!

  3. I just love embroidered hankies and the tatted edgings really complement them. As far as photos, the one with the butterfly plate is especially eye-catching as is the one with the wall pocket (? not sure of name). It's hard to feature the tatting design as well as the embroidery without something taking a back seat. What a lovely collection!

  5. So pretty! You did a wonderful job (but I surely don't envy you having to block all those edgings).

Your edgings and are perfect and I cannot believe you have finished all these while I am lumping along with that red - oh why red? -border!

Witness full blown hankie anxiety! : ))

  12. Just think, years from now someone is going to find one or more of these and caress it while imagining whose loving and talented hands it came from just like I do with vintage lace. Beautiful!

  13. Thank you all for the lovely comments and your preferences for the photos. The hankies are too beautiful to use as a hanky but very decorative on a dresser or in a cupboard showing off pretty tea cups.

Linda, I bought the hanky with the embroidery.

Fox, The first hanky edging tatted up fast but #2 and #3 took a longer time.

Pat, I would not mind if someone created something beautiful from it, like you do with lace in your CQs.
