Remember this? I finally realised what went wrong. I followed the instructions in the pattern to use a 17mm picot gauge. What I did not know was how the picot gauge was used. I usually use it horizontally but in this pattern the gauge was used vertically so my picot was half the size it should have been. Imagine me trying the weave the picots into a space half the original.
Well, here it is. A pattern called Applique Flower in Rosemarie Peel's book "Tatting for Pleasure". I used Flora Size 20 threads in three colours #208, #234 and #246.
It is so lovely!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love it.. gotta get me a tatting pattern book.
ReplyDeleteNever seen anything like this! Completely new to me! Am surprised about the variations that people come up with. Absolutely gorgeuous. It must have been difficult, there is so little space to work in..
ReplyDeleteI've done this pattern. It took me a couple of goes to get the picot length right, too. In the end, it was worth the effort. I really like the design. Lovely "pumpkin and spice" colors you used.
ReplyDeleteFantastic!
ReplyDeleteGreat design and you certainly did it justice!
ReplyDeleteFox : )
This is a fantastic pattern by Rosemarie Peel.
ReplyDeleteI think I could have made the picots a little smaller so that the weaving is slightly tighter.
Cool! I love woven picots. I have this book but never noticed this pattern or somehow overlooked it. Fun challenge! I find picot length misleading in many cases too, especially when it involves long picots.
ReplyDeleteI so love that!!!
ReplyDeleteThe weaving in the center makes it truly unique!
Nice job
