Botanical Coaster

This pattern is from my newest pattern book by Tomoko Morimoto titled 'New Tatting'. This is found on page 110 of the book. I rather like this book. Patterns are not difficult and there is this doily I am dying to tat. Perhaps after the African Sky doily by Jane McLellan.

This pattern combines Josephine knots and tiny rings. In the book, a lighter ecru is used for the twin rings while I used a contrasting darker colour. Tatted in Flora Size 20 threads in pink and purple.

  1. Your tatting looks so perfect! love this little coaster, I have a different book the one with the scarf on it and love to look at it and have been wanting to make the purse or scarf for so long, got to get around to it! Your post is encouraging :)

  3. Agree with Madtatter your tatting always looks so perfect. Have seen this book but strangely the front cover put be off because I thought the patterns would be too plain, but obviously that is not the case!

  4. This is very attractive, in a lovely thread. Before I read the other comments, I already had planned to say that your tatting is so perfect! I'm also impressed that you easily go from one project to another. I don't seem to be able to do that anymore!

  7. There are some simple patterns in the book but some are quite interesting too. Of course we tat the designs which appeal first.
