If you love tatted lace, jewellery, plants and anything handcrafted, come back often.
I will regularly post items that are made by me, plants that I grow and interesting things that I photograph.
I think Tokyo by Iris Niebach in a solid colour thread is much prettier. Link here to compare. After completing four joined motifs, a very pretty design emerged. Tatted in Altin Basak Size 50 thread in periwinkle (#324).
Very pretty set of motifs, and very nicely tatted! I can imagine this as a larger piece, such as a tablecloth. I'd like to tat an Iris Niebach pattern some day...right now I'm still too intimidated!
Wow, it looks really intricate when you join four together. Yes, a solid colour does work better, with variegated thread there is just too much going on.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful and I agree much better in a plain colour
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree, the solid color looks much better. The variegated is too distracting.
ReplyDeleteIris is so good at those designs where joining multiple motifs results in interesting secondary patterns at the joins.
That is brilliant in every respect!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous ! This is kind of like an exquisite maze with intertwining & interlinking effects! A larger pattern is emerging when these 4 joined motifs !
ReplyDeleteThe single motifs are very very elegant too.
Oh, I like that...what a pretty pattern the negative spaces create with 4 of those joined together!
ReplyDeleteJust amazing!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Great look when 4 motifs combined!
ReplyDeleteThe grey is very elegant, and what a dainty and arabesque pattern!
ReplyDeletePetra
Oh my! That is breathtaking!!
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous, what will you do with it? You make such stunning pieces!
ReplyDeleteWhich book is it in? I just got Tatted Doilies, which is enough for me for now. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's in her latest book: tatting fantasia 4
