Tokyo x4

I think Tokyo by Iris Niebach in a solid colour thread is much prettier. Link here to compare. After completing four joined motifs, a very pretty design emerged. Tatted in Altin Basak Size 50 thread in periwinkle (#324).

  1. Very pretty set of motifs, and very nicely tatted! I can imagine this as a larger piece, such as a tablecloth. I'd like to tat an Iris Niebach pattern some day...right now I'm still too intimidated!

  3. Wow, it looks really intricate when you join four together. Yes, a solid colour does work better, with variegated thread there is just too much going on.

  5. Yes, I agree, the solid color looks much better. The variegated is too distracting.

Iris is so good at those designs where joining multiple motifs results in interesting secondary patterns at the joins.

  7. Gorgeous ! This is kind of like an exquisite maze with intertwining & interlinking effects! A larger pattern is emerging when these 4 joined motifs !

The single motifs are very very elegant too.
