Criss Cross Bookmark
This was really enjoyable to tat. Blocking is needed to get the bookmark in a nice shape. And care must be taken to make sure the very long picots are not twisted before joining. As you can see one of mine is twisted. I used Lizbeth 40 #138 Leafy Greens. This measures about 6 inches in length. I wound about 7m of thread on the shuttle. I am going to try this again in a larger sized thread and see how that looks. The criss cross bookmark pattern is from Martha Ess on page 18 of her 'Playing With Picots' book.

Looks perfect to me! Maybe you have to be a tatter to see that twist.
ReplyDeleteOooh, I was looking at this one last night but couldn't bring myself to tackle it yet. Soon, hopefully!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bookmark, I am going to buy this book when I get back off holiday, its going to be a christmas present.

That's a very attractive bookmark!
ReplyDeleteGreat bookmark and colors! You did an awesome job! :)
ReplyDeleteVery Nice. I don't see the twisted picot. It just looks great to me.
ReplyDeleteMine didn't turn out right, I'm not sure if it was the quality of the thread, or if I did something wrong.
