Orchid Art

It was difficult to capture its beauty. Phalaenopsis blooms with banana leaves and stems. This was one of the exhibits in an orchid show I visited. The orchids at the show were just amazing.

  3. Orchids are endlessly fascinating. I had a friend that grew them - almost a full time occupation! Very difficult to photograph...

  5. Hi CJ,
Glad you are back. Thank you for your lovely compliments. I visited the show towards the end of the week so the flowers were a little wilted but it was still beautiful.

    Hi Fox,
I wish I was more patient with the photographing. I had my compact camera and it was indoors with many people visiting so I just took photos as I went. I have killed a few orchids in my lifetime.

    Hi Lily,
It was an amazing show and sorry I did not ask who or how long it took. But they are surely very creative and talented people out there.

    Hi Gina,
Come to think of it, I did not detect any fragrance. And yes, if you click on the photo and enlarge it you can see all the details of the rolled banana leaves and stems. We use to cut those banana stems in school and use it as a stamping tool for our art classes.

So glad everyone enjoyed this photo.
