I thought I would never finish it. When I was working the lead strips to the glass pieces, I asked myself why I chose this pattern. Was it too difficult for a first leading piece? When I was soldering the joints, I thought to myself, this is going to take forever and my right hand was cramping up. Could I rest for a week and come back to it? No, I am going to pull through this. The end result would be more rewarding if the journey was difficult. Yes! The pane looks fragile and it had to be handled with care but I think it's pretty okay for a first attempt at leading. Doesn't Umi look pretty by the Art Deco Rose pane?
It's gorgeous, Wendy! I would have been scared to transport it. But it seems to have made it home just fine. Umi makes the perfect model for showcasing your work.
ReplyDeleteWell done! It looks beautiful! All the effort surely was worth creating this! I am green.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome and beautiful! Enjoy it! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! Do you have a place for it? I can't tell if it is actually installed there or just propped up but looks like a good spot to me!
ReplyDeleteGosh, that's MAGNIFICENT! You must be over the moon with it.
ReplyDeleteYour stain glass looks amazing, it really was worth all the hard work. And Umi looks lovely sitting by it.
ReplyDeleteWow! It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your encouraging comments. I love it but it is very fragile.
ReplyDeleteIt is just propped up for the photo as I have not decided where to put it.
Had help from AAA to transport it home. It was strapped down to the backseat and it went for a ride.
