Small Celtic Knot Flower

First,
Happy Thanksgiving
to all my American blogging buddies and readers!!

This is still wrong after so many tries. Has anyone tatted this before and have a good method of weaving the ends right. First time I weaved it it ended up just like the photo in the book which illustrated it was wrong. When I finally got the weaving right, somehow the ends were not correct, hence the above. The pattern is from Rozella Linden in her book Celtic Tatting Knots and Patterns.

Anyway I continued and made the leaves. Despite the botched weaving, it turned out quite pretty.

  1. Well it looks ok to me, I love the pattern but I think you have to cut the thread leaving enough to tat by hand on the last ring and put the thread though the first ring and tat by hand the last ring,
Jon put a diagram on her blog back in July showing this if it helps,
I am interested in the book, I have to get some tatting books/ bits for Bethany I might sneak a copy of this book in the order if I can get it.

  2. Good for you to persevere.
That is a pretty flower and leaves.
Thank you for all the wonderful tatting and the pretty pictures of scenery and food you show us.

  3. Never, but never do I pull that book out... I have completed this once correctly and it is somewhere on tat-ology - but it took HOURS! Wish I had the fortitude to try again as I love the look of it.

I also completed a cross, and it looks wonderful - also on the blog, and it also took inordinate amounts of hours.

    Yes - pretty it is!

  5. I think it turned out very well. If you hadn't told me I don't think I would have noticed the problem:-)
