Doily In Progress

I have longed to tat this but hesitated because it looked monumental with 16 rounds. Well, this is what I have done so far and 10 more rounds to go. It does not seem so difficult for now, but I hate the cut and tie after each round. Split chains are a pain too . . . but the pattern is so lovely and I just have to ask you to guess which pattern this is?

  2. I've made this one before. It's Doretha Albee's Pineapple Heaven Doily.

Do the split chains - it's good practice, and will save you the time of hiding ends.

I blogged about making the doily last year. Round 8 has an error in the original pattern - check my blog entry from June 19 2011.

    Have fun!

  4. It reminds me of one in one of my Japanese books, but I'm too lazy to go to the other room and look! It looks really nice so far!

  5. Thank you for your earlier comments. Crazy Mom Tats, I saw your post and yours is very pretty in pink especially in the last photo. Thank you for the correction in the pattern and I am practising the split chain. Diane, I know which Japanese pattern you are refering to. I like that one too. Ladytats and God's Kid, It is so pretty, I could stop anywhere in the pattern but look what is developing.

  6. Thanks Crazy Mom, that is why it looked so familiar, I was just looking at that pattern and thinking I would like to start it, but not during a 4 day demo, too many distractions. I will keep in on my to do list tho
