This dish is also called assam laksa. The soup is fish base with chilli, tamarind and assam gelugor slices, so it is spicy and sour. The soup is poured over rice noodles garnished with sliced onion, ginger flower, pineapple and cucumber with fresh mint leaves. I like it really sour with lots of black shrimp paste. It isn't easy to find this dish in Singapore. We had this by the beach when we were on holiday in Penang.
