Grandma’s Bedak Sejuk

I remember my grandmother using 'bedak sejuk' (cooling powder). She made it herself by fermenting rice grains with pandan leaves until it turned into powder. She would then drop them on paper and dry them in the sun. Every Sunday before church, she would take a few, wet them with a few drops of water and apply onto her face. It would dry on her face into a thin layer of white powder.

If you apply it in a thick layer, it makes a good facial mask. I saw it on sale in Malaysia recently and bought a bottle to try. This one did not have the pandan fragrance.
