Stawasz Basket Filled

The basket is filled with Sally Kerson's Thistles. I left the long picots uncut here as I may want to use it to sew onto a backing fabric later. Again I used leftover threads so you may notice that the stem and leaf colours vary. I made some mistakes in the thistles. For details, please check the earlier posts.

I know its sparse and would anyone present a basket of thistles?
I am not sure.

  1. Perhaps it could be seen as sparse...but I really like the look of it, it came together well! Love the combination of colors and elements!

  3. I like what you've done with the picots on the thistles, and the color used. They look real from far away!

  4. Well I think what you have done looks great and the variation in thread makes the thistles a lot more realistic. A Scottish person would love a basket full of them

  6. I'm not sure about giving a basket of thistles, but it sure makes a pretty basket. Mistakes in the thistles? You just made them look more natural :-)

  7. When I was 7 or 8, I gave my mother's friend a thistle for her birthday. She had said they were her favorite flower.
Decades later, she thanked me again. She had told many people about my picking it for her. So, then she got many. But she said mine was special, because it was the first.
Could be someone would like your basket of thistles, too. I think they are lovely.

  8. Sally is right the Scottish in all of us would want a basket full! I have gotten out of my car to carefully cut them. But this basket full is less painful!
