Mixed Bouquet MK#15

This turned out quite nicely. It was done in one round using two shuttles. Love Josephine rings so this is one of the first few patterns I tried from 'A Pattern Book of Tatting' (pg 78). Thread is Flora size 20 in colour #246.

  1. I tatted this one up in a tiny thread and framed it as a gift a few years ago. It has such a nice shape that lends itself well to framing. Seeing it here, I'm wondering how it would look with two colors? I really like this red though - it feels like a bold and bright statement!

  2. Hi Gina, That's a great idea. Would anyone like to try this in two colours? This is actually a bright orange although it looks red here.

  3. I love the diamond and pentagon-shaped negate spaces as much as the "bouquet" bits. Great job!

  4. The J.R. add such ’daintiness’ to the diamond shaped. Lovely.

  5. Lovely! And the side bits look like little cats with their ears sticking up!

  6. I can't make out the cats but I am glad you saw cats, Fox.

I love the shape and the JRs. It is just such a pretty pattern.

  7. I see the cats too! I wouldn't have thought of that til I read the comment. Makes a pretty design even more interesting.
