This Elderberry Jam colourway turned out rather lovely. I like the effect of the dark and light shades. The two photos are of the same doily, just in a different light. The top photo is a better representation of the colour.
You would not immediately realize that it is made up of this motif. It was a little tedious as you really had to refer to the diagram to join the picots. After the 3rd motif, it was easier to complete.
It's strange how taking a photo in different light changes the colour of the thread, I wish someone would tell me why. I get the same problems here and some of the light we have had over the last few months has made it hard to even sew in ends.

ReplyDeleteVery nice. It's hard to see the individual motifs, even after looking at the picture. I like the star shape in the middle and the negative spaces that make the circles surrounding the star. Who knew that triangle shape could make such an interesting doily.
