I was too impatient to start this pattern. I did not study the pattern thoroughly and had to stop here.
After starting a second time, this is what it should look like.
The darker 'stars' should have been tatted first and then joined to the centre.
I think the shape of this motif is visually very appealing.

Looking at the first motif it looked fine. When I saw what it should look like I can see why you were not happy with it, I am sure you can use up the first one on something, gorgeous pattern the darker stars bring out the rest of the pattern
