Barcelona
No, it isn't another tour around the city but it is this pattern by Iris Niebach named Barcelona. Now isn't it a great pattern.
I love the leaves. These were tatted with Lizbeth Size 40 in Juicy Watermelon (#156), Leaf Green Medium (#684) and Lime Green Medium (#677). After Paris, the Maltese rings were still fresh in my mind however I forgot that I needed to tat loosely so that it is easier to close the Maltese rings. I did not attach one leaf to the petal but it isn't so critical.
I switched the colours of the leaf and flower centre for the second flower. Did I mention I love the leaves? I may want to tat more in Perle cotton or a Size 20 or in various different colours.
Amazing flowers!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this pattern - which book of Iris's did it come from?
ReplyDeleteHi Marie,
DeleteIts Tatting Fantasia 4, the newest book.
those are really nice.
ReplyDeleteThose are sweet!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I find Maltese rings very difficult, so I am really so impressed with your tatting here!
ReplyDeleteWOW and DOUBLE WOW. That's a lovely piece. Not only the pattern but the way you've made such a lovely picture with great colours too. It's always a pleasant trip when I visit your blog.
ReplyDeleteYou DID fool me! However, these are lovely flowers. It's clever of Iris to name her motifs after cities. I imagine she's visited them? And indeed the leaves are unique. Of course, your talents are at work here, also!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers and leaves, love the colours you used great pattern

Wow! Those are really attractive Wendy. Love your work! Grovenore
ReplyDeleteLove those leaves and the color change with the green!
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone and thank you Iris. It isn't so difficult once you get the Maltese rings. Quite addictive too. You can play around with a variety of colours.
ReplyDeleteThese flowers and leaves are absolutely pretty! I haven't really tried tatting Maltese rings, but they don't look that scary from your tatting. I should give these a shot one day. :)
