Edged Hankies
These cotton hankies are made in China. Inexpensive but printed on only one side. I got them from Chinatown here in Singapore. I have plans for these two hankies. Will keep you posted.
It's fun to see how printed hankies, even inexpensive ones, are elevated in status with a colorful tatted edging! These are so delightful! I certainly look forward to seeing what you have planned for them! I like the scalloped edges and the way you have stitched them on!
Hi Kathy, The scalloped edges with blanket stitch came with the hanky when I got them. It was quite difficult sewing the edging in. I had to use the invisible thread and a very thin needle.

DeleteReally pretty!
ReplyDeleteThey are both lovely. The edgings coordinate so beautifully with the printed design and colors.

Hi Fox, I was quite pleased to find Fruit Fizz matched the hanky but yet it added some contrast too. I think it worked well.
DeleteBeautiful, I like the blue one best but they are both beautiful with that edging.

I just ordered some similar hankies with the same idea... tatted edgings! I love what you've done with them!
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane. I am sure yours will turn out beautiful. Hoping to see it on your blog.
DeleteBoth are beautiful. I love the blue but really like the edging on the second one too.
