Mangosteen
Durian and mangosteen season usually go hand in hand. I am not sure about it now as we seem to get durians nearly all year round. One fruit is heaty and the other cooling so we were told to eat both to have it balanced out. I have not eaten mangosteens for years. I found two at a recent buffet and just had to try them. The white flesh was sweet and juicy. The reddish purple rind is not usually eaten but as it is full of antioxidants it's sold as mangosteen juice. For more info on the fruit link here.
What an interesting looking fruit!
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious (I think). I have never heard of these fruits but would love to try them.
