Heidi #2
This Heidi cross did not turn out as expected. Perhaps it is the variegated thread I used. This is a Lene Bjorn pattern from her book 'Tatted Bookmarks - Cross-shaped'. This is tatted in Lizbeth Size 40 in Raspberry Frappe (#157).
I gave the earlier Heidi to mom. Most of the time I cannot remember what I give away and to whom but this one I remembered because she chose this out of 2 or 3 crosses I showed her. It is quite difficult to please mom.
I agree this thread didn't work for the pattern. I do love the pattern. Once, I managed to do it with a lighter color for the inside rings and a darker color for the rest. I don't remember what I did though, and have lost the notes I made. Sigh! Maybe I'll try to recreate it this summer. Melanie
The varigated thread really "clumped" the colors together. How interesting. The pattern is pretty tho.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion? I think this design calls for a single colour thread.
ReplyDeleteYour last comment has me chuckling!

ReplyDeleteI love this colour way and you have made a beautiful cross, I love the pattern, another book for the never ending wish list.

one tip I have for remembering what I give is that I rename the photo with the persons name and pattern. I find that this helps.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. The color is pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThe color of Heidi bookmark is absolutely beautiful. Hugs Judy
