Miltoniopsis Orchid
These remind me of pansies but this is actually a Miltoniopsis orchid. It is also called the pansy orchid and it is related to the Oncidiums. I hope I did not mislead you to think that I grew these orchids. I have no green fingers and orchids seems to die on me rather quickly.
My first thought was pansies too! I love pansies. When I first bought my house 30+ years ago, I had well over 30 houseplants. But since I'm largely surrounded by trees, there is no good source of sunlight except the basement window which is quite large. I had a hard time remembering to go down there and water them so eventually, over time, they died or I gave them away. I had a couple of beautiful hanging plants that I hated losing. Last year my sister gave me an orchid for my birthday which I ended up giving to my son who is living in the basement room with the big window. It would die if I kept it upstairs.
Hello Wendy, I have never seen a Pansy Orchid and this one is beautiful. Hugs Judy
