Elevens
I scheduled this post for no other reason but for the fun of it. It is 11/11/11 at 11:11am in Singapore. Do I have photos of eleven seals. Did you count?
I found this beautiful to the eye and knowing all were hand carved, made it even more special. Margaret and Fox, I hope you enjoyed these photos. All these seals are exhibited at the Shanghai Museum.
The number 11 is considered a power number in Numerology. It's double the power of #1 which signifies new beginnings and is important because of that. That's why 11/11/11 is being viewed as a special date. Couples are getting married on this day and I'm sure more than a few babies are being encouraged to make their appearance on this prosperous day. Might be a good day for making special intentions, prayers, and plans.
Thank you for sharing such beautiful handmade work, they must have taken hours to carve, I have enjoyed looking at them and thank you for taking the trouble to share them. Margaret.
Thank you for your comments Gina, Sally and Margaret. I took a 3 hour course at the Singapore Art Museum years back. I came home with a very badly carved seal. If I can find it I will take a photograph and post it.
