IsDihara's Fleur de Lis
I had the wonderful opportunity to test tat this for IsDihara of Ambitatterous. IsDihara first showed the design here. Doesn't the motif have a great diamond shape? I learnt folded rings which makes up the fleur de lis.
The one on the left is tatted in DMC Perle 8 Col 107 and the other one is tatted in Olympus Gold Special Knitting Yarn (Size 10 or thicker in fuchsia pink). I thought the Fleur de Lis would look more defined in thicker threads but I made a mistake in that one. Can you spot it?
IsDihara has plans for this motif, so watch her blog.
At first I thought this was two separate triangles back-to-back, but I see it's cleverly done in one pass! Great design! It will be interesting to see what she has planned!
ReplyDeleteYour fleur de lis motifs look wonderful! I your deviation from the pattern, but it is really my fault, as my photo in the "not-ready-for-prime-time" PDF has the same error. Please don't blame yourself. You tatted it perfectly!
ReplyDeleteYour fleur de lis look great. I like the colors you chose. I agree, it does have a nice diamond shape.
ReplyDeleteLovely!

IsDihara, This is totally my mistake in the larger pink one. I forgot to do 2ds in between the large ring and folded ring in one of the fleur de lis split ring.
ReplyDeleteLovely design and colours, I wonder what she has in mind with the design, off to check out her blog.
