I started another. I now have 3 hanky edging WIPs. I am hoping to alternate tatting all three with a snowflake or bookmark in between. Am I mad? I usually only tat one project at a time. Thought I just try this out and see how I cope.
This pattern is from Susanne Schwenke's Spitzen Kreationen book on page 12. Tatting in one round using 2 shuttles. Looks complicated but you get the hang of it after a few repeats. I am using Venus Size 40 threads in white.
You may be mad, but then you'd be in good company! I like having more than one project going at a time so that when I get bored with one, I can pick up another.

We're all mad. We entertain ourselves by tying knots in string.
ReplyDeleteI think with edgings or anything else very long and repetitive, it's good to have multiple things going at once. That way you don't get too bored with any one project.

It isn't difficult but each repeat takes time. On some nights, I can only manage one repeat on other nights, I can do up to four repeats. I dislike cutting threads so whenever I make a mistake, I untat which takes double / triple the time.

This is certainly a lovely labor (and no doubt a labor of love). I can't stop looking at it. The block tatting catches the eye immeditately but each time I look again I see something I didn't notice before. It is a stunning bit of lacework! Well done!
