More Windmills (MK#48)
Both are tatted in thread size 40 but the one on the left has smaller picots than the one on the right. I decided to stick to the smaller picots.
More windmills in different colours. All tatted in size 40 however the dark brown looks larger than the others. Hmmmm, why? The thread seems a little thicker or could it be because of the blocking?
I've noticed some colors in the same brand and size thread will be slightly different and I seem to remember reading somewhere that the dye causes the difference. It affects the fibers a little differently in some colors. These are pretty all lined up like that.
Wow, I knew picot size made a difference, but I never realized it could be that dramatic. All the colors are pretty, but I think it looks especially striking in black.

ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of windmills! I like this pattern.

ReplyDeleteThanks Gina. I did not know that. I was a little puzzled as to why the dark brown was slightly larger.
ReplyDeleteHi Suztats, I wanted to join them up but decided against it.
Miranda, It made a difference in this particular pattern. I was surprised too. It probably would not normally make such a huge difference.
They all look great! And the colors are awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteLove your colourful windmills they look like they are twirling!
ReplyDeleteThank you God's Kid and Typs Tatting! I just wanted to test out my new thread colours and twirling, yes it does look like it is twirling.
