Bird shuttle
I received this from Noreen a few days ago. I have not used this type of shuttle before and found it a little difficult to get use to. I hold the shuttle on its flat side near the tail but it seems to get caught with the threads each time I tat. Any tips of how to hold this properly. I would appreciate any help.
I like flat shuttles to look at but not to tat with. The thread is exposed to your hand and the oil on it continuously, so I just put them in my display box and oooh and aahhh but I don't use them. Sorry, but I can't help you out there. LOL!
The shuttle is a beauty. Sorry you are having trouble with it. When I am using my shuttles that have the thread on the outside, I hold them almost in the middle with my fingers on top of the thread. This seems to give me a little more control and help keep it from sticking on the ring with each pass. It still gets caught some, but not so bad. Hope this helps.

ReplyDeleteI have never used a shuttle like this but I must say that it is adorable and will make a nice addition to your collection.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your replies, Gina, Tattycat and Sherry. It is a lovely shuttle. I will try Tattycat's tip and let you know how it goes.
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you got a birdie shuttle. It looks really cute. I would probably hold this one in the middle.
