Seaglass from the Straits of Malacca

I have never noticed seaglass at the beach until I saw the jewellery from Tracy of Sea Find Designs on Etsy. A few weeks ago, we were at the beach in Port Dickson, Malaysia and we spent about a half hour or so and found all these pieces of seaglass. They are mostly flat pieces but still beautiful. I wonder what we'll find from the beach here in Singapore.

More buildings

This building is pretty new. I think La Salle College of the Arts moved from their old campus to this one this year. This is not a good photo but it was again waiting at the pedestrian lights in my car and quickly snap one before the light turned green. I wish it was a cool 20 degrees Celsius every day instead of 32 or 33 degrees and I would not mind walking around Singapore taking photos of things that catch my eye. Right now it would have to either be me in a bus or car in air con comfort.

This building is much older. It use to be the Hill Street Police Station, then it was (maybe still is) the National Archives and Oral History Department. Two years ago which was the last time I entered the building, we were there to look at paintings in the small art galleries housed there. There was also a photo exhibit at that time. I remember a quiet cafe where you could sit and enjoy greenery leading to the stairs going up Fort Canning. Fort Canning is just behind the buidling. I love the wooden shutters and the old building use to have a courtyard inside. It is glassed up and air-conditioned now. You either love the rainbow colours or you hate it.

Tatted technicolour cat

Okay this looks more like the one in the pattern. It was just switching to the right shuttle at the right time. But the tail would not go straight up. Have you ever seen a cat like this? Guess not.

Cat not on a broom

This 'Cat On A Broom' tatting pattern is from Mark Myers. I know there is something wrong with my orange cat as it did not look like the one in the pattern. I need to try it again. I have not done the broom yet.

Chinatown Singapore

Okay I was not in my car when I took this. This is Smith Street in Chinatown. That building is painted in bright orange and green with Chinese characters.

Nature's art

Like most photos I take, I took this from the car while it was waiting at the traffic lights. No, I was not driving but I was admiring the view from my window. This was what I saw and I whipped out by camera before the car moved on. No prizes for guessing what this is, but give a go anyway.

Happy Father's Day

My father was a man of few words. He loved his food, a good game of golf, bag pipe music and his food. Did I say that twice? He would spend time at home cooking my favourite dishes when I was home. Beef tripe soup which takes hours to clean and cook; Barbequed lamb or a good steak; Teppanyaki sherried prawns with garlic; He would always make sure we ate well. Happy Father's Day, Pa!

Tatted Celtic Love Knot

This Celtic Love Knot (Josephine Knot) pattern is from Rozella Linden. I could not find the link to the pattern which I printed. I have not done Celtic tatting before and it was quite fun to do this one. Doesn't it look like a butterfly?
