I used some gorgeous silk sewing thread from Japan which was terribly fine, slippery to work with, but produced an absolutely perfect result. It took a long time, though, to catch all those picots!Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02383223698959645624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6587477576636106201.post-91213778521432281822010-08-23T12:30:52.353+08:002010-08-23T12:30:52.353+08:00Add me to the list of tatters who can't' g...Add me to the list of tatters who can't' get enough of "Heart's Desire," in any color or combination. I even used this pattern to attempt to tat a fluer-de-lys inside a heart! (See photos on my blog)

I still need to make modification to fine-tune that early experiment, but it turned out pretty well.

YOUR hearts are so beautiful! Has anyone tried using fabric glue to attach tatting? It's a lovely pattern, but it was the first time I'd tried it, and I missed one of the joins - it was much easier the second time!
I hadn't thought of turning it into a bookmark, I will have to try that. I really wanted to stitch the motif onto the wedding hanky I've made, but I don't think it would be very practical to do that, so it's going in the card as a keepsake.Maureenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02383223698959645624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6587477576636106201.post-38403863523546294762010-08-22T04:38:51.070+08:002010-08-22T04:38:51.070+08:00I love the pattern - it looks so simple! I did it in pastel size 10 and gave it to a friend who had just become a great-grandma for the first time. She sewed a satin pillow for the baby and attached the heart I'd tatted.
